In the late 1980s, the Association of Irish Composers launched a print magazine called The Irish Composer, which featured analyses and reviews of works by both Irish and international composers, written by members of the AIC. In our second visit to these archives, we are re-publishing an article written by Jane O'Leary on the role and the achievements of women composers — a prescient piece as relevant today as it was thirty years ago.
